In Summary

A bit of a mixed bag of feelings this month with my reading pile which prompted a re-think about my monthly comic pull list and a few titles being dropped and a few new ones being added. Why? Well, the new titles that are added are things like Amazing Spider-Man and Uncanny X-Men, titles that I used to read, drifted away from and then used the excuse that so many of us use, 'There is no good jumping on point...'

Bollocks is what I say to that!

Every new issue is a jumping on point!

That is the conclusion I have come to anyway, and so I've gone and ditched titles like: Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic War – because this is one of the single most arse comics I have ever had the misfortune to read - I felt like someone had stolen $3.99 out of my pocket and then wee'd in it! So I replaced it with Amazing Spider-Man, something that I know I will enjoy.

I must admit there is one comic I have dropped from my pull list that I have enjoyed reading and that is Star Trek.

Why if you like it are you dropping it?

Good question!

It is because I am a huge fan of the original show and although it is nice to see the 'new' vision for the crew having the same adventures the 'old' crew did... well... I've seen them all a hundred times on TV and know how they are all going to end. That for me made it, despite the great writing and art, a little bit redundant in my reading pile.

The highlight for the month has to be one of the story arcs in GI Joe Real American Hero! Vol. 5 where Snake Eyes and Storm Shadow team up to go kill the murderer of their master. A brilliant bit of ninja carnage!

That is it for this month's (or should that be 'last') reading list. Not as detailed as usual, but time is a bit of an issue at the moment. Next month (which is really this month) is already, thanks to a few long train journeys, adding up to be another whopper of a comic reading list already!
